If it was truly about skill and "I was there", then we should've been able to attempt it any time we wanted without having to wait for other people to help build it. The fact that you need to wait on other people to contribute to a building so that you can attempt a solo challenge of skill never sat right with me. Personally, I think the mage tower was just handled badly all expansion.
