This means that the Crush Pro 120 contains a unique, all analogue signal path – delivering an unrivalled lively feel and instant response. Old School Analogue CircuitryĮven as most amps turn to digital, Orange remain as dedicated to analogue circuitry as ever before. The high gain preamp brings a broad range of developed tones to the table, while remaining powerful and clear. As well as these choices, you also have reverb and global volume controls, helping you add the final touch to your ideal sound. With an offering of clean and dirty, you can swap from one to the other through either connecting a remote footswitch, or the amps control panel. Having two channels ultimately means more options. The circuit also boasts a ‘dry through’ – meaning your untouched guitar tone continues, even while reverb is added. Selecting from classic spring, hall and plate reverbs lets you pick the exact option required for your preferred tone. Reverb SelectionĬhoose from a number of varied reverbs, courtesy of a brand-new digital module. However, after painstaking, meticulous development and research, the end result is a high powered, solid state amp worthy of the Orange brand! This variant offers the same great tone, with an added brilliant new look – limited edition white. I'd be interested to here it in a band situation / live, but definitely not interested in owning it.The Orange CR120H is somewhat uncharted territory for Orange. Safe to say the CR120 didn't have me ready to throw down my cash then and there. I'd expected the TH30 to really bring the game to the Terror, and it really didn't.

The TH30 was good, but nothing special, where-as the Jim Root Terror was an excellent amp. It reminded me of when I A/B'd the TH30 and Jim Root Terror. In fact, I have to be honest and say I liked the tone from the Micro Dark / Terror more, which are 20w SS/hybrids. It has that mushy low end that reminded me of a Rockerverb. It felt kind of tube like, but nowhere near as lively as my old OR15. The gain could do just about any genre you'd like, and the EQ was fairly responsive, but not great. It had a nice clean channel and a decent drive channel.

My first impression was it's just alright. I had it in an amp room, so I was able to crank it pretty high. I plugged it in with a Marshall 1960 4x12 and Gibson Les Paul. I know it has had mainly positive reviews, especially for being an SS amp. It was used for $420, so I thought it was worth a look. I came across my first Orange CR120 head today.
